Labor Day
We went for a drive to get out of the house on Labor Day. We drove for about an hour, then we found this great little mexican restaurant. You have to try it.
Megan loved the authentic cuisine.
On the way home we found some go-carts. Addie was a little apprehensive about the ride.
Time to "shake and bake"!

Our Trip to the ER
She's all smiles now, but last night was another story. She tripped and smacked her face on a table. She got a 1/2 " gash, they ended up deciding to use glue instead of stitches. Pretty traumatic experience. The females in this family are GREAT but they aren't real famous in Navy Medicine circles for their ability to withstand pain.

Grandma's visit
Grandma came, worked her fingers to the bone, entertained the girls, and had a birthday! Thanks for all of the help. We needed it.

Pioneer Children . . .
shoved down mountains of trans fats after a pioneer Family Home Evening. The twinkie -cookie covered wagon stayed assembled only long enough to take this picture. Life is rough.

Happy 4th of July

I try hard not to get political, but it is the 4th. McCain isn't much better, but at least he's a Patriot.

More Back Yard Friends
Not pictured: squirrels, rabbits, rat snakes, water moccasins, copperheads, tree frogs, toads, skinks, lizards, and about 10,000 different bugs. Gotta love North Carolina!

Finally 4!
After counting down the days for the past week, Addie's birthday finally arrived!
She was thrilled with her "party" (she had her friend, Emma over to play - that's as close to a party as you get when your mom is 8 months pregnant). They broke in her new slip 'n slide (more like a slip 'n land), made their own jewelry, and enjoyed their fair share of strawberry cupcakes.

A Quick Trip to Raleigh
The girls loved the Natural History Museum - except for the dinosaur room. I think it gave Addie nightmares. (Luckily the snow cone made up for it.)
Hill Ridge farms was just outside of Raleigh. We rode the train, fed the animals and giant catfish (disgusting), mined for gems, and slid down the giant slide.
We also found time to take turns going to the temple, hit an outlet mall, and most importantly, have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory - YUM!
